Schneids,

You've said the first thing in this thread that I really care to learn from - my 4 bet range is nuts there?

Here it is for anyone who doesn't want to find it in this long thread: { 44+, A8s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, T9s, 98s, AJo+, KQo }

Keep in mind I thought SB was more standard since I had very little read. Would you mind sharing your 4 betting range in this spot?

[/ QUOTE ]

imo this is so situationally dependent that trying to generalize is pointless.

I know his online rep but this wasn't someone running cold. He consistently played hands ridiculously poorly and passively from 3 handed to full ring. It's a total mystery to me how this guy we played against could be the same guy you know from online but I am told it is so by someone who would know.

If so then Schneids must have just meant my play is terrible against the range we gave the SB? Cuz I didn't know that range at that time. This is my default range with Joe on the button and no knowledge of SB.

you would really lay down 97 here against this dude short handed just b/c he 3 bets the flop here?

[ QUOTE ]
"and how come nobody has answered me when i ask why the [censored] *joe* should five-bet? And you don't think you can't get in peoples' heads online? And you don't think an online player can't get inside someone's head live?"

i never said that. my point was live poker is even more read based and deviating from what's obvious as a result is critical.

joe should 5 bet (or at least call) because chris had 44 and he said he 4 bet specifically because he knew joe would fold hands he should call with and then he'd get to play a pot with dead money with a pair heads up in position against a really weak player. joe should know by now this is what chris thinks of his play and surprise him some times by getting a little out of line and throwing him some laggro curve balls. this would have been a great time to do that.

for me to do it would be not as effective because chris knows im capable of making this play preflop too willingly. so for me it might be just better to fold and get out of the way or call and proceed with caution.

"And when the board comes K937 and you raise and get 3-bet, what now? You're gonna convince yourself he could still have AA or AK and call down and probably be wrong."

if he's weak preflop i could see laying this down on the turn or river.

as for being smug, i dont know what youre talking about. please keep the insults to yourself.

Does the suitedness of Joe's 9-7 really make that much difference? Is suitedness, generally, more or less important in shorthanded, as opposed to longhanded, games?

[/ QUOTE ]

Sh*t, .5% or more in bj is sufficient for inspriring wet dreams.
Mathematically speaking, suitedness is super important both short and long handed. I mean it's "more" important long handed because you'd always limp a hand like 97s behind a few limpers and never limp 97o, but, it's also very important in spots like this. It's a 5% edge. Blackjack players spray wet dreams daily for 5% in their favor.

im not saying you were trying to be funny. what im saying is your advice is so simple minded and obvious and pointless that if your posts arent at least funny why do you keep posting? post longer more thoughtful articulate posts or please spare us.

Um go_seminoles plays 10/20 - 500/1000 online LHE, he has a super wide range out of the SB.

Maybe he was just dicking around?
