2+2 Military Service (1K post)

Thinking of joining the NG, been looking into some MOS's....looking for something that I run a low risk of getting killed, but also something sorta involved where I'm not a cook. Any suggestions?

and because I've been anxious to tell someone about this and this is a military thread:
i was dropping something off in the comm studies office yesterday, and the guy checking my form said, 'oh, you're not taking a minor?' i laughed and said 'no, although i think we should get a minor for rotc - it's 40 extra units!'. he responded with some phrase, i don't remember it directly, but i said i didn't understand what he had said.

he responded, 'well, the school probably already thinks rotc is taking the easy way out, by deciding to be officers so you can send other people instead of yourselves in to get blown up.'

i was honestly appalled. does anyone else think that was remarkably inappropriate, unnprovoked (it was), and unnecessary?

Air Force, 4 years. I put E4 as my hightest attained rank, although I was an E3 when I was discharged :-) (military discipline was not my strongest suit). I put other for Combat Service: Cold War. I programmed computer systems for targeting nuclear missiles and had very high Top Secret clearance. I'm not allowed to say more than that.
