With just over a minute left and college OT rules, they should have been happy to play for OT. Even so, you want low risk while also gaining yards to try to end it in regulation. I persoally think the out route is one of the most risky passes to throw. You're going all the way across the field on a route, that if played well by a CB, can be jumped.
