Default Worried about telling friends

Hi,

I am at uni (on holiday) at the moment about to move in with friends for my second year. We were in halls for the first year and so no-one knows about me playing poker. However, when I move into a house with them I think it will be very hard to keep it from them so I should tell them soon.

I only play for small stakes (50-100NL) and am hoping that this will be able to cover me throughout the term. I have enough money saved so dont need to play at all but it will physcologically cover me if that makes sense.

How should I tell them? Moving into a ohuse with four of us so all together or each seperately. I am sure some of you must have told your friends at some point, how did they react?

i don't get why your friends would care, unless they are anti gambling people...they will probably think its pretty cool...

Your friends will likely be impressed that you don't have to work...why would they judge you for it?

They likely won't care as long as you keep up with your payment But should they wonder, mention:

you make it sound like a bad thing. Personally I am really proud to play poker- I love to talk to anyone who is interested in it.

Lol no offense but I laughed in real life about this post. I don't think you are going to have to sit them all down and with a sigh tell them that you play poker. You don't even have to tell them, just start playing and eventually they will see you and say "I didn't know you played poker, that's pretty cool, etc.."

I really doubt it will present itself as a problem

is that directed towards me or the OP?

To the OP - YOu either:

a. need to get some new friends
b. have low self esteem and worry too much about what your friends think about you
