Re: Basic turn spot
i bet, usually call a raise and fold the river. i dont feel like we get raised that much and there are like 4million flop peeling hands we're ahead of.

CC from small blind indicates he's probably not a great player, [/ QUOTE ] Dangerous assumption. Plenty of good LAGs that play well postflop will coldcall from the SB. But I do agree with you and Miles. Bet/call the turn. So much value in a bet since a lot of draws will be calling and a lot of 6 outers will be folding since his range is huge. But I do disagree with Miles on river play. I will call most bricks since he is unknown. |

Re: Basic turn spot
I would bet the turn and probably call a raise. For some reason I have seen a huge amount of players heads up, check raise the turn with nothing as of late.

Re: Basic turn spot
I would bet/call turn and c/c river if raised on turn. I think the board is to drawy to fold against an unknown on river.
As Oink know, I like coldcalling from SB sometimes and one of the best times to do it is with a monster. You should be aware of that and don't assume he's bad just because he doesn't raise from SB. |

Re: Basic turn spot
I dont understand why coldcalling from the SB with a monster sould be good. IIRC Stox mentions it too in his book, but gives no explanation. It is also hard to balance because there are not many hands you can coldcall profitably OOP (maybe QJs if BB is loose). I prefer not to let BB in with a hand like J8s and crack my aces with a bd flush for a huge pot.

Re: Basic turn spot
if a thinking villains raises and I know that BB is a spewy fish who will go to far with most of his hands (also known as a loose passive player) I ofter cold call with suited connectors or 2 high cards - and this works well at low limit)
but in this hands "a lot" of hands just semibluff c/r the turn and bet (any) river. I saw rather thinking player c/r with a little as: - pp < T - any A - any flushdraw - X6 (where X > T) this is why I dont like the b/c turn & c/f river play. Does anyone has an opinion about 3-bet to a turn c/r and check behind on a non-A & non-J river |

But depeding on the players this can be awarding since you can make more money postflop. |
