Latest email update from Full Tilt on the DonovanMD situation:

Hello Steven,

Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support.

I understand your concerns over your recent player to player
transaction, but as you willfully and legally, under no coercion, sent
player DonovanMD money, there is no apparent fraud that has taken place.
From our perspective the money was sent as a valid and legitimate player
to player transfer. For us to roll back transfers or refund players'
money would create a loophole for dishonest players to simply claim any
loss as fraudulent activity.

If we were to act on every regretful transaction made by every player,
we would be opening the doors for any cause and decision to be voided.
Regarding any potential reimbursement, I'm afraid we will not be able to
return your money to you. The transaction is final.

Do not let our denial of reimbursement function as any slight to you as
a customer. We are by no means insinuating that you are putting in a
false claim or attempting to defraud Full Tilt Poker. However, we cannot
shoulder the responsibility of a player who has willfully given his own
money away. I hope you can understand this.

I realize that this is an extremely frustrating situation for you, and I
wish there was more I could do at this point. Unfortunately, private
deals made by players outside of Full Tilt Poker are the responsibility
of the players themselves. As is the case with most business
transactions, caveat emptor.

We appreciate your understanding, Steven. If there's anything else we
can assist you with, please let us know.

Regards,

Kent

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the confirmation. Please be advised that DonovanMD has
defrauded me. He was supposed to send me $200.00 on Pokerstars in
exchange for this transfer. I realize that I probably can't get my money
back, but please restrict him from tranfers so that he can't do this to
anyone else. I've posted this situation on the Two Plus Two Forums on
this thread :

Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.

Please pm me with the playing names of alleged scammers, so that I can add them to the record. Thanks.

Please read the OP and all earlier warnings. Either we ban all mentions of transfers, period, or you must accept that they are entirely at your own risk; people are trying to scam you; you should obtain real life details, (name, address, phone number), about people in order to inform the police if you are scammed; exchange full details of the proposed transfer by e-mail; you should only transfer in amounts you are prepared to lose; google and Search the other person's name; ask here for references; a record of a few successful transfers can be a setup to scam on the next one; it seems likely but not definite that most scammers are newer posters; if the other guy won't transfer first, transfer in a number of small amounts; ask the other guy to sit at a table with his bankroll in front of him; etc; etc.

If you are in any doubt, or unwilling to risk losing the amount of money involved, don't offer to transfer first. Realise that you are likely to be scammed if you do.

Owing to a hacker using a long-time posters 2+2 PM facility to arrange a scam, I now also suggest that before transferring first you find out the other party's real name and e-mail the poker sites' Support to say that you understand that they cannot confirm the other guy's name, but your intention is to transfer to Player ABC whose real name is XYZ, and instruct them that if this is not the case, you do not wish the transfer to proceed.

"Let the buyer beware."

...

If I had waited a week to post this, the argument would have been "Seems awfully fishy that you waited so long to post this..." Also, Mike's original post in this thread said to post scammers as soon as possible to keep others from being taken advantage of.

If there's an explanation forthcoming, I'll be the first to apologize.

[/ QUOTE ]

Better safe than sorry. An early warning system is crucial to prevent others from being conned. If you're wrong, an apology is posted. Although if it was a 1000+ poster, a post like this is good:

"No one trade with (1000+ poster) until a transfer problem situation is resolved. Will update post in 3 days."

I am looking to get money out of two Neteller accounts. Approx $1,300 in total.

Anyone willing to make the exchange in return for transfer to Fulltilt or Stars (or any other reasonable site)?

I finally took the plunge today and deposited $500 on FT. After months of freerolls I ended up with $10 on stars and when I attempted to transfer it I got ripped off. So.... here goes again, I would like to spread it out so if anyone will trade $150-$250 on either UB or stars for an equal amount on FT it would be greatly appreciated. I would rather not transfer first due to the fact that I was just scammed last week but we can make the transfer in as small increments as you want. Thanks. PM me.
