Default So U R going to LV During WSOP---STFU and watch!

Oh that often loved/hated wsop time in LV is here. I'm thinking I may post a daily/semi daily report on the idiotic things players are saying & doing that causes friction and often times makes you look foolish.

Here's jut 2 games from last nite:

3 handed 40-80 mix. Lets identify the players; Button (#1), SB (#2), BB (#3).

The button is going to leave after this hand. I already know that #2 is going to whine when I make my next move.

#1 leaves and I grab the button and toss it to #3.(remember SB goes on the button and acts first pf when headup) #2 doesnt get the button after having just posted the SB when going from 3 handed to 2 handed.

He starts bitching and I explain to him the rule is that no player can be force to take the BB 2 hands in a row.

He wants to go on the he has posted out of postion 2 hands in a row and it isnt equitable FOR HIM to have the BB without the button. Eventually we call the floor who tells him that "the dealer is correct".

He whines more & more, and I try to explain to him why/how and he continues to rudely interrupt me, when I finally say, "are you going to let me finish"? His response of course was "NO". Reflecting his ignorance of course. He eventually calls me an idiot, and I tell him, "sonny I've been in this racket longer than you've been alive." He makes a comment about me not "understanding poker", to that I must laugh.

Game down. (by the way, player #3 was Paul Darden who also told him I was correct)

Ok next idiot from last nite.

10-20nl, On the turn, player 1 checks, player 2 bets, player 1 calls.

I put out the river card, and it goes check, check. I look up to player 1 and show my palms up to him suggesting he's 1st to show to wit he says " I called him" he shows first!"..."no sir, you checked, he called your check. The rule is 'He who initiates last action shows first'. A check is an action, you intitiated it first, you show first."

To wit he starts talking about it being the most fundamental of rules that we dont understand. "no sir, this is not New Jersey. We understand the rule and have not totally obliterated it".

The table tells him the check is an action and he shows first. Someone throws me a redbird and says "perfectly explained dealer, good job".

Naturally had there been an all-in on the turn that the bettor shows first. as on the river there is no further action.

Folks dont forget, your not in your local card barn. your somewhere else and must go by that particular rooms rules. so dont go spouting off about rules when you dont know what they are in the house your visiting. MOST of the time the people that play/work there full time know the rules.

The funny thing is fully 75% of the time these colorful interactions are from under 30's youngsters with big bankrolls that think they know something about poker because they've played for 2-3 years.

A word to the wise. Young ego's are very easy to smash and be put on tilt, losing entire bankrolls. Learn to watch, listen, learn, and stfu. Chances are you'll be a far better player for it.

On a side note, I wonder if I'll totally blow it and get a 3 day suspension from telling off one of these idiots due to the frustrations of 7 weeks of listening to this crap.
Funny thing is 1 LA pro whom I see 3-4 times a year in LV and call by name, even tho he is pretty much a stiff, says last nite in the 10-20nl that I am the most courteous and respectful dealer in the house nearly 100% of the time. And thus makes a comment that he could never do it. "thanks XXXXX, but theres times where I'd love to just break them in two! To wit he says there's countries where I think your allowed. "SIGN ME UP!"

I don't disagree with your thoughts, but I don't see any value in fighting with the players. Just call the floor and be done with it.

With respect to hand #2, in NJ the rule is different in the two big rooms. At the Taj, seat 1 would show first; at the Borgata, seat #2 (the last aggressor on the turn) would show first.

I know, and I agreed with you. I was just pointing out that there are even rule variations among the AC casinos.
