test to see if [censored] is in the filter.

Is this policy for the site now?

[/ QUOTE ]

Doesn't this answer itself?
Posters shouldn't be circumventing the profanity filter.

Yeah sorry, the first sentence was just a test, the rest was asking the more general question about what's been implemented in the bbvs..

I meant is stuff like you can't use 'die in a fire', dumb racial slurs and terms like 'don't jew me', and is this site rather than forum policy, to be enforced by all mods on all forums?

yes? no?

the poster of that image in general sucks, and is almost definitely a new account for someone else who got banned previously.

I think that's fine. Pushing it, but fine.

I hope so. Its gone too far, the freedom of BBV has spilled over into the other forums, I've seen too many hateful posts lately.

Sniper, DB,

Please don't post more "if i were a mod" or "sorry to see you're going to get banned" type stuff, OK?

I don't care about that guy. His posts suck, they're going to fall off the front page, or someone else will make them funny. I don't care if people insult me, at all. If he sucks too bad, or in particular ways, he'll be gone.

OK so random thought after day 1:

Basically the same thing I've thought about BBV for a while without ever having to experience it from the mod point of view. The bulk of the pot-stirring is caused by a core group of regular posters, and the occasional "who's that guy."

At the center of that group seems to be the obvious:

Georgia Avenue
Yves (lol)
T-God, to an extent
Schoolaments
Ding-Dong Yo
others

They provide not only a large number of the posts, but a lot of the more "reasonable sounding" whining that goes on when anyone does anything. They're the standard bearers or whatever. However they (mostly) aren't the ones who actually cause the problems. It's the guys who follow their lead who are actually the problems. I'm going to try to get in touch with a bunch of these people (not yves lol) today and talk to them about stuff. Basically, I don't think that most of these guys should/could be banned, but they are near the heart of the problem.

There's also obviously a core of people who just are [censored], and hopefully in the next few days, they'll just be gone.

Dingdong has done a 180 this week and realized the consequences of pushing things too far. AFAIC, he is 100% behind what I am doing these days and should basically not be on that list anymore and should be considered a reformed poster.

GA and TGod are reasonable people and can be talked with. We can basically say "look, we are starting over...let's make this a better place and lead by example" and they will follow my/our lead for sure.
