Clemens has never made excuses like Mussina does for every bad start. Hes made great starts this year and awful ones.
If he says that hes hurt, then hes hurt.

my whole best in baseball was based on hughes being a good starter for the rest of the way and the playoffs... if he is clemens can be the fourth starter... get the first round of the playoffs off... and just pitch the 4th game in ALCS and WS.... when pitching with all that rest he'll prolly be the best 4th starter in baseball

I feel like this is a huge start for hughes, not for his career or anything, but definately for the remainder of this season.... could really effect his confidence, and unfotunately/more importantly, it could really effect torre's confidence in him if he gets shelled today....

compared to all MLB teams, Clemens is a great 4th starter, compared to other AL playoff teams, not really. at this point you would rather have Wakefield, or probably Westbrook, and he's probably close with the Angels 4th starter as well.

overall the Yankees staff is very good, though.
