just to revisit the bet that triumph and i made:
i was widely berated for saying that clemens would put up 'wakefield-like' numbers for the yankees. we made a bet that clemens' ERA + .75 <= wakefield's ERA. Clemens: 83 IP, 4.34 ERA (99 ERA+), 1.31 WHIP, 60 K, 22 BB, 8.57 K/9, 2.97 K:BB Wakefield: 157 IP, 4.35 ERA (104 ERA+), 1.29 WHIP, 92 K, 54 BB, 6.16 K/9, 1.77 K:BB these stats don't include Wake's awesome outing today (7 IP, 3 H, 0 R in a win over the White Sox). anyone have VORP / WARP for these guys over the 2007 season so far? i thought i found it on BP but it was under batting statistics so i was a little confused. but they said: (WARP1/WARP2/WARP3) 2007 Wakefield: 4.6 / 4.8 / 5.7 2007 Clemens: 2.0 / 2.1 / 2.5

hey al leiter when a guy pitches like 60% GB's his ERA WHEN NOBODY IS ON (wtf is the point of even mentioning that???) is .5 not worth mentioning...as a matter of fact, discussing anybodys ERA when NOBODY IS ON is retarded. who would even compile a stat like that?
how do these things not occur to these people?
