Default Best way to keep track of live sessions

What's the best way to keep track of general results of live sessions? Also, what's the best technique for figuring out # of hands that you've played?

I use check your bets and like it.

As for counting hands, I think most people don't; it's typical to keep live stats on a per hour basis, rather than per hundred hands. If you're set on counting hands, one relatively easy way might be to count orbits rather than individual hands; the main drawback is that not every orbit has ten hands.

Try www.pokercharts.com. It supplies a ton of essential information, such as expectation, SD, confidence. You can also enter overhead.

I've got one of those smart phones that has a version of Excel on it. After each session I note the date, time, game, limit and result. I make comments too about the table, players or hands that I played well/poorly.

I think it is a great program, and don't want something web-based in case whoever runs it decides to quit running it.

I'm no rocket scientist, but I built an Excel spreadsheet that tracks gross/net, hrs. standard deviation. individually and combined for all games 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, O/8, etc. Most programs are not "transparent." Excel lets us see the data.
