As a one time pizza delivery boy, you really live and die on your tips. That's where all your profits come from. When you deliver a $150 order, you're already counting a nice tip. When you get stiffed, you're a little devastated. I'm sure there are at least a few of the big game players that tip really well, and that's what you're hoping for when you deal a big game. Same with pizzas, you're hoping for the big tip and it's disappointing when you don't get it, unless:

well everyone tips right? So why are they so cheap? I can understand when some 20/40 regulars dont tip but these guys play about 1/2K Blinds, i doesnt take anything out of their winrate

tipping started as a reward for doing a good job. the fact that people in those professions that typically get tips now expect them and complain when they dont get tipped or dont get tipped enough is laughable.

All this tipping crap that goes on in the US makes me laugh... how about your employers just pay your employees decent wages?.. lol
some places of work here dont even allow tipping (eg you cant tip dealers at the casino). this way, employees have nothing to cry about when [optional] tips aren't handed out.

the story i heard (from a crown employee) was that the "no tipping" rule was instituted because players tipping reduce the amount of money that they are able to gamble (and thus lose to the house)

I remember it really shocked me the first time I went to NY... Absolutely unthinkable to hope you can ask some hotel employee any kind of information without having him open his hand face up waiting for a buck after answering.

It's a different way to live I suppose.. But I can't help thinking it considerably lacks of honor, and that it should feel both degradent for the employee and irritating for the client. Not 100% sure if it's just a matter of different education and way of life ?
In europe in may places it would even feel offending for the worker to be offered a tip, though for dealers in poker cercles and casinos, it's of course like in the states, not "mandatory" but highly expected (but even though I would tip - I never play live -, I would certainly dislike having to do it).

That's nice. That's about 51 BB/hr. A little better than my 25BB/100 hands of limit .50/1.00 I had today, but you're playing NL & PLO, so I guess we are about evenly matched on scores for the weekend.
