But the fact that he can't even speak English properly, I'd rather have someone else win.

Khan should've shoved... you lose value against Yang's range by flat calling.

edit: and as short as Hevad was, r/r was not the optimal play, imo. other than that, he played solid.

Thayer,

Since I like learning and stuff and never read MTT

ICM?

[/ QUOTE ]

ICM = Independent Chip Model

Basically means how much your chips are worth at any given time of a tourney. This is most important in STT's (Since the bubble between 4th and 3rd is so huge, often = to the diff between 2nd and 1st) but can also be applied in MTT's as well, especially final tables. Basically there are times when + chipEV plays aren't necessarily + $EV, and ICM is the factor in that.

No doubt Rainkhan(someone who super tables STT's) knows much more about ICM than the people criticizing him. Also I think it's safe to say that Khan's read on villains range and his equity against that is better than ours as well.

Probably, but there's a couple things. First, Phil can do that easier...despite the jokes, he's a world class player live, and is much more likely to know where he's at after the flop than Khan. Also, people are just going to play differently against Phil than Khan, and he has a much better feel for what people try to do to him given his image. For Khan, what's he gonna do when he bricks? B/f against a guy who likely has junk? CRAI? Neither of those seem nearly as good as just getting it in PF. A lot was made of him raising to 6 instead of shoving the 9, but it's pretty much the same thing...I may not have shoved in the dark, but he was shoving any flop there. There's no way he's gonna c/f getting over 5:1 if Yang pushes.

khan had 9 million starting the hand right ? he raised to 6 million ? Why wouldn't he go all in in the dark, should he wait for the flop to push to gain any fold equity from yang ? No way u should fold to any flop yourself so is there really any FE if u push the flop? What am I missing here.

[/ QUOTE ]

you're not missing anything:

- he should have just went all in preflop
- since he didn't, he's not folding any flop
- going all in in the dark vs. waiting for the flop to shove makes no difference in terms of EV, FE, anything

[/ QUOTE ]

Sweet jesus, thank you. What's with the Kahn bashing when you see Yang calling with A9, J8 etc? Leaving 3 million behind and then pushing dark might be eccentric but it had NO bearing on the hand WHATSOEVER. They were getting it all in, on that hand, no matter what. Don't think Yang was ever even considering folding JJ.
