Default Need some dinner ideas (limited resources)

As some of you know, I go to a residential high school (yes, it sucks).

I've been looking for some good meals for when the cafeteria food sucks. Right now this is basically TV dinners and easy mac.

I have limited storage space/cooking utensils/appliances. I only have a small fridge, and a microwave in the commons of the residence. The fridge has a small freezer space, although it doesnt work too well.

Anyone have good meal ideas that don't require a range/stove and minimal freezer capacity?

Limited storage space is in terms of freezer capacity, i got tons of dry storage space.

None of you college kids/grads have any ideas? I know the OOT cookoff thread got a bazillion replies...

Canned chili, soup, ramen, frozen veggies.

Ghetto egg McMuffins were a staple of an old roommate of mine.

Bean burrito's are good and easy.

PB&J is always quick, easy & tasty.

Ramen is edible and super cheap.

There are a ton of differet types of good microwaveable individual soup cups.

Canned soup/soup cups (as already mentioned) keep some fruit around. Pizza pops and/or individual pizzas.

Not much else you can do with just a microwave. I assume you aren’t allowed a hot plate?

Of course not. It's a school for the "best and brightest", but of course some [censored] would make a fire with his hotplate.

I've got ramen and canned soup too. There are some "Pasta Pronto" dishes that have been pretty good too, no milk/butter required.

Get yourself a cheap toaster oven ($20 or less, $5 or less if you're willing to get a used one from a thrift or flea market) it'll increase your capabilities immensely. In particular, frozen mini-pizzas are much better baked than nuked!

Well, unless that's prohibited like the hot plate?

You can do a lot with a microwave:
Baked potato
Steamed veggies
Heat anything canned - baked beans, soups
Quesadillas
Popcorn
Nuked egg sandwich

Also, learn something.

You can make grilled cheese with an iron.

Yes, I have lived in a dorm room.
