Re: Always in calldown mode
Raisy-daisy for the reasons mentioned above. Without the gutshot and/or on a less FD-y board calling down is closer to right, though I still think I raise as JT-KQ type hands are a decent portion of his range, and you're ok with him either folding his 6 outer, or putting 2 bets in and letting you check behind a non ideal river.

Re: Always in calldown mode
I just did what I thought was a reasonable stove vs a 50/25
9h8d = 72.65% 22+,A2s+,K9s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T8s+,98s,A6o+,KTo+,QTo+,JT o = 27.35% |

Re: Always in calldown mode
danza - not sure he's bet/calling his ENTIRE range here though. Although certainly a lot of it.
Guys like this could have QT or something and can find a fold to a turn-raise here where otherwise they would continue on with the bluff. I seem to take these down a lot right then and there even against bluffy 50/25's like this. Doesn't mean you shouldn't do it though. I would think raising the turn here is the way better option. |

Re: Always in calldown mode
MB,
In my experience they don't fold a 6 outer. The only 3 outers are like A4 and i can see him calling "incase you're semi bluffing", the rest of them are gutshots + overs or already are a pair (yea 2 outers!). I could see like a 30/20 b/f'ing QJo here but not this type of guy. He could though, I agree. |

Re: Always in calldown mode
I don't know. Every time I think, "there's no way he's folding practically anything here so I think I can spew" he ends up folding.

Re: Always in calldown mode
Raise for value and call down a 3-bet. Just calling is leaving money at the table.

Re: Always in calldown mode
I love raising here because you probably have the best hand and the best draw. Plus, it looks to your opponent that you are bluffing/semibluffing, since it happens all the time. This is the time to jack it up - you may be surprised what will give you action.

Re: Always in calldown mode
Responses are pretty much what I expected. The main problem in my thinking in this spot seems to be that villain likely to spew bad enough that getting 3-bet isn't that tough.
Results for those interested: River is a 7. Villain b/c AK |
