Re: Most surprising move I\'ve seen on a golf course
Did he buddy not think this was strange as well?
There is no way I would have started the round as a 5-some with 2 strangers, especially if one of them is a 130's golfer. |

Re: Most surprising move I\'ve seen on a golf course
I saw a guy hit a shot from the tee on a par three over water.
It was a low-screamer, and it hit just up the bank on the other side, killing a muskrat. The thing flopped around and then died. I think it was the 17th hole, so we didn't really talk about it much. Kinda strange moment. |

Re: Most surprising move I\'ve seen on a golf course
I just got around to reading this thread. Pretty LOL in my opinion.
For one, it's super strange that the guy who brought the guest just totally abandoned him ON THE SECOND HOLE. Left him behind with people he didn't know. Huge WTF. Then playing ahead and disappearing is a gigantic LOL. Our 20ish-large golf group is comprised of mostly guys that met playing pickup basketball at our gym, and our handicaps range from about 1-18. We have definitely had failed experiments over the years, including one guy also named Paul who was a huge douchebag and in addition to being generally annoying he bagged out on us halfway through a comp round at TPC Stadium in Scottsdale, and didn't even pay for the bets he was down on. We didn't invite him out with us again. And yeah, the worst thing about playing with terrible golfers is their lack of etiquette about blatantly standing behind or through your line. Drives me nuts. Although I do find that they are generally self-conscious enough about their ability to play as quickly as they can, so I have no problem with that. |

Has anyone ever met a Paul that wasn't a douche? I thought not.

Re: Most surprising move I\'ve seen on a golf course
[ QUOTE ]
I was playing with my father a few weeks ago and he has this habit of standing behind people when they are hitting. He thinks he is being helpful to watch the shot(by behind I mean on the line of play). [/ QUOTE ] My friends and I do/did this all the time. We always had trouble finding our shots. I think I learned it from our high school golf coach. |
