yeah i'd actually rather flop a FD or OESD than top pair with this hand.

what about 3-betting the flop? and shutting down to further action?

as for reading villain hand.. 44 or 22 maybe.. 56s.. not that it matters much here as i can't beat much.

guess fold preflop is the best solution..

and c-bet $7 rather than $4.5

Def. fold preflop if you aren't ready to handle situations like this. Not trying to be an ass here. There's nothing wrong with playing nitty until you get a feel for how to play marginal spots -- because most of the situations you get into w/ 87s UTG are gonna be marginal. That's how we all started out.

3-betting the flop is awful without a very good read, he's either gonna push on you or call and leave you in a terrible spot on the turn in a pot that's gotten way out of hand.

no ty i know what you mean and appreciate any reasonable comments. my usual game is 6+ tabling 6max so i am usually folding this.

here.. i was 2 tabling and kinda bored. bad excuse... my my main point was what to to once i got myself into this situation rather than what to do with 78hh pf.
