Default Hooks...weak?

Not a lot of re-raising going on PF...I just hated all of my options here. Button seemed sensible, tight player. I cant tell if this is a huge leak, or if I should do this more.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

SB ($198)
BB ($93.30)
UTG ($330.50)
MP ($861.75)
Hero ($237.35)
Button ($199.65)

Preflop: Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $8</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $30</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $19

The only thing that sucks about this is if you call youd be out of position. I wouldnt call here. r/r i think would be the best thing unless you have a really strong read on BTN. This folding in the CO after a r/r from BTN/blinds makes your raises from the CO look that much weaker.

I was thinking RR, but the only way I really win the hand is if he folds right? A call here, for 100bbs, I am beat 90% of the time...right?

His range is going to be wider considering the fact he has position. I just feel like folding is too weak and calling is horrible since youd have to act first with JJ.

Any reads on villain? very read dependent imo.

This is often a spot a lose a lot of money in too, so I'd like to hear what everyone says. You are deep and you commit half your stack by 3 betting him + you are out of position. Its important to know what he is capable of 3 betting with. if you think he is a nit and only capable of doing this with QQ+, maybe AKs, I might even consider folding here

If he is 3 betting light and is capable of folding after putting 30 bucks in, then I would consider re-raising before the flop. But again, its all about the read you have on the villain and how much you know about his play

Vs. and unknown and 200xBB i probably call here and proceed with caution.

His re-raising range is wider than QQ+, but I really feel like re-raising is a "i hope he doesnt have QQ+" and calling is playing without a plan.

Rasing is only good if you plan to felt pre flop, and I am usually not comfortable gettin 100 BB's in pf.

The only think causing me some concern is that his raise is rather large. That being said, my std is to call here and take a flop.

If we call, the pot is $60 on the flop and effective stacks are $170. Vs. an unknown, I will typically c/c one street on a safe (i.e non A or K) flop and fold to further agression. Most villians are not going to double barrel ina 3bet pot w/o the goods.

There are certain people who I think folding pf can be fine (super nits) and there are others who I am happy to stack off with on a safe flop. But barring any real reads, I think folding pf os to weak and exploitable.

ok, so you call a 50 dollar flop bet on a No A/K flop. turn is a blank deuce. You fold to an 80 dollar turn bet...so folding for 80 into a $220...it just seems like that is even more weak than folding PF
