Default Scraping a screen for a number using scripting language?

I have tried Au3info.exe and the AutoHotKey spy to try and see the value of a textbox in a program, but it can't return the value of the text box (only the color under the mouse cursor, which is obviously not helpful).

Any idea to "see" the number in a text field via scraping? Is this possible using AutoIt/AutoHotKey?

Look for a function called digitSearch() in my functions, v3.

You can also use the techniques found in butcha's "AHK Bet pot script for iPoker".
