Default What is the current fashion in men\'s tie knots?

I'm attending a party late this month and will be wearing a tie for the first time in about five years.

I've always gone with the easy half-Windsor but I want to get with the times for this event.

What knot are ballas using these days?

How long should the tie be? I always thought the tip was supposed to be at the belt.

Everyone at work tells me they should be short , so I dont know.

Some of them wear thin ties? who wear these?

I think thin ties look decent on really skinny guys but not on anyone else.

i'd say the full, but i think the half windsor is under-rated.

also, depending upon the thickness of the material of your tie, sometimes a full windsor knot is too big. i have a ted baker tie that is rather thick and a full windsor looks ridiculous.

Always hated the full windsor. I think the half-windsor is big enough for most spread collars.

If you have a wide face, like me, spread collars are going to make you look fatter.

With a normal collared shirt I let the tie decide what knot. If it's a thick tie I go with the four-in-hand. If not, half-Windsor.

I haven't worn enough ties and different style shirts to know this yet, but I'm glad you told me before I started walking around like a fattyface.
