Re: looking to stake people part 3
I actually posted this just a few days ago since i'm looking for a coach. I recently just started in June/July and just moved up to 50NL where i'm only winning for like 5ptbb/100 because i keep tilting and stacking off in poor spots. But, beat 25NL for like 8-10ptbb/100 for like 25K hands.
With some coaching and a little bit of time (i don't really need the staking as i'd like to play out of my own roll) i'll rape any stakes you sit me in. Link to the uNL post i made. |

Re: looking to stake people part 3
Not 100% sure I want this, but I'm considering getting backed for like 5/10 or 10/20. I'm gonna look for some offers and see what my schedule is gonna be like this semester.
My credentials are that I have what I'm pretty sure is the highest win rate at Stars 1/2 NL over a decent sample (8.7 PTBB/100 over my last 65k hands) and over a not so decent sample at 2/4 NL (8.4 PTBB/100 over 23k hands). Those are from Jan 2007 on, and are almost entirely stars because I got a new laptop and only bothered to get my old stars HHs from support. In the interest of full disclosure, i'm down 7.6k at 3/6 NL lifetime because alotofaction runs like jesus. I can provide pokerEV stuff that I think shows me down like 6k against sklansky bucks in AIs if necessary. Anyway, PM me if you're interested. |

Re: looking to stake people part 3
Would love to get coached lol, but looking through this thread there are tons of people with much better credentials Have 7ptbb/100 over my last 30k hands as a way overrolled 15/10 fr nit grinder at nl50. Recently moved up to nl100 6max, with breakeven results at first. Have loosened up my game quite a bit but my learning curve could be greatly accelerated by a coach.

Re: looking to stake people part 3
I've been a recreational player for a few years and just recently (while being on holidays) I have decided on getting serious.
I bought PT this week and have been playing 50nl. I don't have many hands in my db since it's been less than a week but here it is anyway. I can post up more results in a weeks time when i should have 10K hands in my db. I have also read a few books and am very keen on learning more. Oh i also live in AUS so i signed up to party poker today |

Re: looking to stake people part 3
Do people understand what staking is here? It's getting money to play in a game that you are supposed to be +ev in, without having the money to play in it with your own money.
It is NOT "Hey I wanna try out playing 3 levels higher than I've ever played/beaten before, and use others people money for it", which it seems a lot of people are looking at doing based on this thread. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't see why the two are mutually exclusive. Edit: I understand that staking is crazy risky because everyone overestimate their edges and most stakers overestimate their stakees' edges as well. I think most times that a winning player stakes another player, the deal is -EV for the backer. I just don't think making these blanket statements is a good way to protect OP from this problem. He's just gotta analyze things on a case by case basis and be very careful to make sure he's staking a player who can win enough to make whatever deal he gives them profitable. |
