Default 25NL - Fun with AQ

Absolute Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
8 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $20.85
UTG+1: $22.45
MP1: $23.45
MP2: $9.05
CO: $5.05
Hero: $26.35
SB: $15.95
BB: $7.25

MP1 has a VP$IP of 34% and is semi-loose aggressive/passive with over 55 hands. I've seen him call raises out of position quite a few times with marginal hands like T9, JT, QJ-Q9, KQ-KJ, and suited connectors. so I'm hoping to exploit that weakness here.

This is the type of hand I need help on because I'm usually not sure where I stand with TPTK after getting bet into on the flop and turn on a paired board.

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
2 folds, MP1 calls, 2 folds, Hero raises to $1, 2 folds, MP1 calls.

Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($2.35, 2 players)
MP1 bets $1.75, Hero calls.

I have TPTK but I don't like this flop because it falls into villains range with KJ, QT-Q9.

Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($5.85, 2 players)
MP1 bets $3.5, Hero calls.

Here's where I get confused. Is the donk bet because he has a hand, or is this monsters under the bed?

River: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($12.85, 2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero ???

Looks like busted flush draw, and he doesn't want to put in 3 barrells. Also a Queen or Ten hand that he is slowing down with. I like your call on the flop, no reason to inflate the pot to 'see where you are at' or anything. Turn is good too. It's possible he's checking a monster here but how can he expect you to bet? I think it's more likely that you have the best hand and can value bet $7 or so. He could possibly CRAI with nothing, but I think that is very unlikely. If he raises you do have to fold IMO.

i raise that turn all day to about 10, give him wrong odds to draw with 10, or flush draw-- if he repops me on the reraise i slow down on the river but since we have position i see no reason to not raise turn IMO as it gives us a better understanding of where we are and puts more money in the pot if hes drawing as hes likely to just call the reraise or fold, like to see what others have to say

as played ill check behind on river / only better hands will call a bet on the river / checking gives us "free" information on villain which we can use later.

Which is exactly what I did and villain turned over QJo and I took down a decent pot.

I was gonna say, QJ, KQ are possibilities. I think a value bet is reasonable on the river. It's doubtful he is going to check/raise you here on the river. He might check/call QT that about the only thing i'd be worried about. I think there are enough hands that you beat that pay you to warrant a value bet. Am I wrong?

Edit: Hmm, if he rivered a straight he might check raise you, I think you can fold fairly easily to a check raise though can't you?

good call on flop and turn, u don't want this pot getting really big on that kind of flop.

KQ seems his most likely holding. I wouldn't have thought he had QJ, cos that is real nice flop for QJ and if it was me i would be tempted to get a lot of money in at that point...

KQ and QJ are the only hands u are beating. anything else has u crushed, but i dont think u can give him credit for a monster here after the check on river, so a value bet is probably worth it.
