AA in capped pot, what\'s your line on scary flop?
FTP .5/1, 3rd hand at table, unknown villain raises UTG, I 3bet AA MP1, folds to villain who caps. Range for villain probably QQ+, maybe AK sound right?
Flop KQ2 rainbow. Villain bets, I raise cuz I have AA, he 3’s, I cap thinking if he donks turn I call down. He donks turn 9 and river K, I call down. I’m quite sure this was bad, I think it should have gone either: 1)call down from flop bet, he most likely has one of the 2 KK combos, 2 QQ combos, or one AA combo, and I have a one in 5 chance of a split. But there’s enough chance he has AK or JJ to make it worth calling down, and if he does I don’t want to raise him out. 2)Raise flop, call a 3 bet (or cap?), and fold to turn donk, I don’t have the odds to call down from there. 3)Other? |

I would stick a raise on the turn and call down from there.

I would stick a raise on the turn and call down from there. [/ QUOTE ] why? against what part of villain's range is this a good idea? |

If those hands are equally likely, we'd need him to 3-bet the turn with AK some of the time, otherwise, we get two turn bets and a river bet from AK and lose 3 turn bets and a river bet to KK/QQ unless you're thinking of folding to a turn 3-bet. If by some chance KQs is in his range, it gets worse. I play it how Kit plays it. |
