we're talking no limit here, right? in limit, I think there's a point at which atc become playable.

Keep in mind you're not closing the action. In NL, particularly 6-max, the chances of BB making it 6-10BB to see the flop might be pretty high, so "half-bet" is not the right way to think about it, unless you've got a good read on BB.

One quick thing you can do is look at your position PT stats. If you're not in the black from the SB after taking the blind money into account, you'd be better off mucking EVERYTHING from the small blind, than the way you're playing.

Thanks for this. I had a similar question (calling minraises from the BB) posted over in the MTT forum, and the responses there and here have been quite informative.
