I just have a quick question for you guys. I'm from Akron and will be home for a few weeks around the holidays and was thinking of checking this place out. Do they get any bigger LHE games going? It seems like the only game mentioned was 3-6, do they ever have any 10-20 or 20-40 games or anything? Thanks in advance.

they were trying to spread a 6-12 game this weekend I don't know if the interest was there..They were taking a list of names..10-20 or 20-40 I don't see it happening the people that would play those games are playing 5-10 nl or 10-25 nl..the 3-6 game does have good action for a small LHE game, pots usually in the 65-70 dollar range..there are 2-5 NL games spread also..Anything else I can help with I'll do my best..I work nights on Tuesday Friday Saturday. All after 9pm..

I was there last Saturday night and played the 5/10nl game. I bought in for the max $1500 and the first orbit picked up JJ in the sb. Cutoff raises to $50 and I flat call. Flop is JT4r I check, he bets $100, I raise to $250, he reraises to $750, so I move him in for my entire stack (he has me covered). He instacalls with AJ... woot 3k pot to start my night.

I don't play nl at all, as most of you may know I'm a mid-high stakes lhe player. It's true though, the players are absolutely terrible here. If I could play nl as well as most of you I would seriously consider playing 5 days a week there. Unfortunately I'm still learning, but after seeing that I'm eager to learn a lot more very quickly.

I plan on going back tonight if anyone wants to meet up, pm me.

I'm pumped that they aren't going to be as smokey. To be honest it was a big reason for me not wanting to go back there.

I see an interest list there typically for at least a 5/10 Limit game, and sometimes a 10/20 limit game. I really don't see a bigger limit game getting spread, but I'd settle for a good limit game like that.

See, because the play is so bad, I actually prefer a bit more stablility in the game. I'd rather not have to worry about stacking someone who hits his 2-outer on me. Maybe it's a scared money thing, but I like protecting my roll. Then again, I'm also tight.

If anyone from Pgh wants to go down, let me know. I'm always looking for a carpool.

I heard that they kicked the smokers out,so I went down to check it out,the trip down was scenic, I used to go there years ago to play the Ponys,it is actually closer for me than Wheeling so I'll probably go to the Moutain more often!
The poker room is more open and less cluastrophobic than Wheeling which I like and the tables seat 10 people rather than 9, the only thing I didn't like was the color of the cloth on the tables,it is red,I guess to match the dealers uniforms, but they should have made the table colors green which is easier on the eyes!I only play 2/4 lhe so far,and plan to move up later on after I get some playing time under my belt, but so far I'm satisfied with 2/4 lhe and making progress in my learning process without losing any money? When Pennsylvania gets table games I should be ready to play and I won't have to travel very far!

Stupid freezing rain kept me away tonight... but I wanted to go. On top of that, I didn't know about stepping foot in WV after Pitt took the National Champioinship away from WVU.

At any rate, I'd love to see them spread more 5/10 LHE and O8b, especially.

Keep up the progress! Any good reports from the weekend?

I ended up winning a decent amount last night, and honestly it continues to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

The following hand goes down...

5/10nl, utg limps for 10. Two fold and I raise to $40 with the 89d. Behind me 3 people call lol. Anyway gets back to utg who is approximately 60 or so who raises to $80 (lolAAaments).. it gets better. I now know he has aces and call, the other 3 guys FOLD (I kid you not). So, flop comes out 893r. UTG bets $100 at me and I just push in for $1350 (solid overbet I know but I know he's not folding). So he instacalls and jumps out of his seat to do a touchdown dance before flipping over the aces.

My two pair hold and I collected the big pot. For the next 6 hours the entire table continued to remind me of how lucky I was every time I won a pot.

I am a self confessed terrible nlh player, as I play almost exclusively limit. Luckily, there is no risk in this room for anyone that understands any sort of poker theory. The nl players for the most part might as well play with their cards face up, and are generally terrified to play big pots. I've been meaning to learn nl cash for almost two years. This sure seems to be the place to do that.

Another funny story from the game...

RandoDrunkManiacGuy (RDMG) raises for the 5th hand in a row pf to $50. TightTeacher to my right rr to $225 with KK. RDMG instantly 3 bets (which he was doing a lot) to $725. TightTeacher tanks for about 2 mins and folds his KK up. RDMG obv flips up his AJo and is super proud.

After the hand I asked him why he didn't shove against RDMG. He said "I knew he didn't have Aces, but I didn't want to get sucked out on and have to drive home the two hours a loser"
