Default Too aggressive with top pr.?

Both myself and villain just sat down at this table (I had no reads on him) and this was our first hand.
I know I only had a 10 high back door flush draw and medium tp and we both just checked preflop.
I'm trying to be more aggressive in my play when appropriate, is raising the flop here too much (with only a ten kicker) against an unknown player?

Against an unknown this is pretty spewey, but at this table it appears to be ahead of the curve.

Not sure what happened on the river to make you think your hand got better, without a really good read all you're doing is driving out any chance of an over call by BB and increasing the rake.

I don't think this raise is for value considering your pair is very vulnerable against such a large field. This raise also does not work for protection, because the pot is fairly large, anyone with a piece of the flop will have correct odds to draw. I would wait for the turn to try and protect your hand.

Yup, your raise is to protect your top pair, mid kicker, you did cause 3 villians to fold. ok, nice hand played...

I don't really have a problem with the raise. At most, we're only going to get one overcaller anyway (meaning that a call from original bettor would, at worst, give us the same amount of money in the pot as if we did, in fact, get that overcaller in with just one bet. And if we get a cold call or a 3bet, there's more money in the pot than if we got the overcaller, which--mind you--is not a guarantee). The river also put us ahead of 53/55/3x, and made it so that there's only one jack left in the deck (thus decreasing the number of possible combinations in which villain holds a jack).
