mid pp with position and two overs on board
this hand is from a 1-2 live nl game. EP has been open raising to 15 around half his hands. He of course makes it 15. Seemingly solid player calls in MP, I have the button with 99 and make it 45. my image to this point should be tight-solid, i haven't raised much preflop, and when i have i've shown a hand. EP folds and MP calls, so we take the flop heads up. We both have roughly 450 behind.
Flop comes 10,8,3 rainbow. MP checks, I bet 75, mp calls fairly quickly. Turn is a Queen, middle position checks. Whats your plan from here? Lets say you check. How much do you call on the river? |

Re: mid pp with position and two overs on board
is it normal to open with a 7xBB raise? If you raise, make it at least 60 PF. You wont fall in love with many flops.
Against a tight solid opponent i am not investing one more cent into this hand after he called on the flop. I believe he has a set pretty often since the only decent draw out there is 9J and i dont believe a tightie calls 3bets with 9J. AT is maybe somewhat likely, but still beating you. Any overpair like JJ/QQ is also a huge part of his range. |

you should give up unless if you hit a 9.

Re: mid pp with position and two overs on board
whats the best way to play it preflop. remember, ep raise means nothing, and i expected him to fold if he had no hand.
