Default I love Commerce Casino

Commerce 3/5NL. I start the hand with 795. Main villain covers.

I pick up JJ in MP and raise to 20. Get two callers. One is a typcial Commerce loose/very passive fish. The main villain is somewhat aggressive preflop and somewhat passive postflop, though more aggro than the average in this game. He's also willing to pay a lot for draws. In an earlier hand he had a fit about folding a 12 out draw to my 1.5x potsized all-in on the turn. Main villain is on the button. Pot is 60ish

Flop comes down T93 with two clubs.

First villain checks, I bet 50. Both villains call. Pot is 210 for the turn:

Offsuit 8

First villain checks. I bet 150. Main villain calls, other villain folds. River:

Offsuit 7. Board reads T9873. Pot is now 510. I check, hoping to induce a bluff. Villain shoves. 575 to call. A bit more action than I was hoping for. It's hard to imagine that he has anything other than QJ, very few people in this game are capable of betting 600 bucks on a busted flush draw. But [censored], I have two of the jacks, the 2nd nuts and nearly 2:1 ...

Call?
Fold?
Look into his soul, yo?

call. isn't this what you wanted with the check?

he could easily be bluffing or value betting worse.

btw you should bet this river; don't want a 2pair/set type hand checking behind.

insta-call since you're holding 2 jacks. the passive line before the river and a shove on prolly indicates that you're either way ahead and at worst are chopping.

first of all you played it like ass!

with a flop of T93 you could easily be crushed by QQ TTT or 999 but you have to define your hand ... you bet .. good i like it ... but alas you get called in two spots ... at this point you should try to get to a showdown as cheaply as possible ... but no .... you fire again ...why?....you have a legit draw now...why do you need to go supersystem on him have to lay down here to an all in? ....lucky for you, you just get called ... i am done here unless i improve.

Wow you get lucky enough to improve.... and now Check!!!!!!

wtf .... he has one of these hands AK or AQ busted flush, TTT, 999 an outside chance of QQ or the readed QJ .... so you beat 4 of 5 possible hands getting 2 to 1 ... its an easy call and your lucky because i reckon you sucked out on his set and your also lucky enough he shoved it all in .

At this level people rarely shove in on the river over the pot with the nuts ... so yet another reason i believe you are good.

call, stack the chips and count your blessings

i woulda like to see a check on the turn but as played its a call because you have 2 blockers for the straight and you showed weakness on a draw heavy board and you said hes aggressive. Call and expect to show the winner over 50% here i think.

Check turn.

Bet river. Why would you check? You let them check behind with two pairs.

I'd prefer check turn and bet river over your line and I agree that checking the river was a bad play. You described main villain is somewhat passive postflop, why give him the chance to check behind in case he got a hand with little showdown value like two pair or TPTK stuff?
Inducing bluffs is a play you use against very aggressive players, not in spots like this one IMO...

No no. This is Commerce. When you get called in two spots on a flop like that with an overpair you're still good > 75% of the time. Almost no one in this game will dare to flatcall with QQ, KK, AA, or 9T on a flop that also has a flush draw. Many will shove a set.

I bet the turn because I really thought that the main villain was on a flush draw and the other villain is a typical Commerce player who could have any draw with 4 or more outs. If I hadn't picked up the straight draw on the turn, are you guys still in favor of checking? I realize 1 pair is rarely good in this situation against decent players, but this is the Commerce 3/5.

I checked the river because I thought his betting range was wider than his calling range - including all kinds of ugly busted flush draws. Trust me his flush draw range is WAY wider than AK/AQ clubs.

When I checked the river I really thought my main decision was going to be whether or not to CR all in over a river bet of 100-200 (get in a different frame of mind, play at Commerce makes no sense). Because I have two of the jacks, I was very confident that I was ahead throughout the hand until the shove. You guys really think this river shove has a range wider than air/nuts?
