Default Big blind hand

SB is a TAG (20/12/ over 300) but seems to play poorly postflop, and has made some poor calldowns, he is running hot and is up about 40 bb while we were playing 6 handed, it has just became 4 handed.
Button is a typical (60/5/0.5 over 100 hands) fish.

10.00/20.00 Hold'em (4 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 folds, Button calls, SB raises, Hero calls, Button calls.

Flop: (6.00 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, Button folds, SB 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls.

Turn: (7.00 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

River: (9.00 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

Final Pot: 11.00 BB.

Standard?

I don't think you necessarily need to cap the flop, but as you played it it's fine.

I think your cap is ok if you think you will have the opportunity to take a free card on the turn a decent percentage of the time (you should definitely take it if you don't improve). You aren't really giving up too much. You have about 45% equity against AA. If his range is 77+, you have 42% equity.

So if he has 77+, you are giving up 8% of a small bet by capping. So if you can get a free card fairly frequently it make sense to cap. Also, if he does decide he wants multiple bets going in on the turn, he might try to checkraise you instead of betting out, which will increase the success of your free card attempt.

One other thing is you probably reduce your implied odds on the turn a bit by capping. However, he might check the turn anyway with an overpair if a 3, 5, or 7, comes depending on how weak he is, so this effect isnt' too large IMO.

The way you played it, the turn and river are great.
