Default Hot Springs, AR Area Casnios

I'm visiting Hot Springs for a while, and I was wondering if someone in the area could quickly offer up my best options for SSNL games, 1/2 200 or 300 max.

I'm concerned mostly with travel time, and secondarily with the quality of the casino.

Okla, Miss?

In my forum search I saw some people saying they thought oaklawn had installed poker pro tables, and it's not the case. They have some BJ tables, though.

Harrah's and Ameristar in KC. That's a haul, I'm not familiar enough with the geography to know if it would be closer than Tunica. In any case, not something you can do in a day.

Look up Salisaw, OK on google maps. They spread 1-2nl and 2-5nl. Thank me later.

Check out Shreveport, Louisianna. The Horseshoe and the Eldorado both spread SSNL games.

I would guess that the drive time would be around 2 hours.

Some of the geography knowledge here is definitely lacking.
google-maps ftw everyone.

Hot Springs to KC is just a weird recommendation. This would be pretty long.

Hot Springs to Shreveport is over 3 hours according to google-maps.

Hot Springs to Robinsonville/Tunica would be even longer....although Hot Springs to West Memphis would certainly be shorter and the Southland Track in West Memphis has the electronic poker-tables.

Not sure about the OK recommendation. Would think there is something there near the state-line but Salisaw is not the name of the town I don't think because it doesn't show up on google maps.

3hr 27 min according to google maps, considering this I would go to shreveport.

The same law that allowed the electronic poker tables at Southland should have also allowed them at Oaklawn in Hot Springs, but I haven't checked if that is actually true or if Oaklawn has taken advantage of this.

No etables at Oaklawn in Hot Springs yet. Checked with them last week. They are waiting for the state supreme court to rule on a lawsuit challenging the legality of the law that allowed them to start running "electronic games of skill". If that is decided in their favor they will have to then go thru a construction project to allow enough room for the etables (since they want all their current floor space for "skill based" slot machines)

Oklahoma is the way to go, Tunica or KC are going to be 4-6 hours, Oklahoma casinos in about 2, when I was there last time ( years ago ) they were only 2 tables going, but I've heard it is better now

What? It's like 3 hours *minimum* to the OK border from Little Rock, and that's with no traffic. Add an extra 1.5 hours from Hot Springs unless they've finished all that construction between HS and LR.

Shreveport or Tunica has got to be a faster trip.

Hmm, I'm a little off. According to Google:

HS to Tunica: 3:51
HS to Shreveport: 3:19
HS to Sallisaw: 3:24

Google sends you over the backroads instead of sticking to the interstate, which I guess makes sense, but I'm not familiar with those roads in western Arkansas so I don't know how much variance there is. I know from driving backroads in southeast AR, you can have huge variances in time (e.g. driving through during cotton pickin season, you can get stopped on the highway while the 18 wheelers hauling cotton modules get stuck in the mud blocking the entire road, etc).
