Quick Sports Betting/Vegas Line Question
p.s. I figured this would be the best place to post this, if not, sorry
I was scrolling through Bill Simmon's article just a few minutes ago and remembered how I always get confused whenever he picks his football picks. I understand when it's like "Colts by 7.5", meaning if you pick the Colts, in order to have picked correctly, the Colts need to win by 8 or more points. But what does it mean when he's like: "Sports gal: Saints +6 Simmons: Colts -6" I know they're saying completely different things. But I still don't get them. So what does the +/- represent? |

Re: Quick Sports Betting/Vegas Line Question
[ QUOTE ]
Sports gal: Saints +6 [/ QUOTE ] This is saying that the Sports Gal is betting number of points the Saints score tonight, plus six, will be more than the number of points the Colts score. Simmons' pick is that the number of the points the Colts score, minus six, will be more than the number of points the Saints score. In other words, Simmons is picking the Colts to win the game by 7+ points, whereas the Gal is picking the Saints to win outright or lose by fewer than 6 points. -McGee |
