get an accord.

If you get an accord, stick with a 6-cylinder manual model, or something newer than '04.

The automatic transmissions up until 04 have some serious problems, and the 6 cyl has less problems than the 4cyl.

Saab has major issues when the car breaks down.

Mechanics are expensive because there aren't very many Saab mechanics, and parts are way too expensive.

I would not buy a Saab.

From my experience the older ones are better than the newer ones. I can't tell you exactly where that line is, but my gf's dad owns a 2003 and absolutely hates it. Nothing but problems. I would do some research first on the year you are buying.

My mom had a Saab for less than two years. She went to the mechanic more often than she went to the supermarket. That thing was a lemon. She got rid of it, picked up an Acura, and has never been happier.

A used Swedish car for less than $16k is a junker for sure. Forget stylish on your budget and just buy a used Honda/Toyota with no regrets.
