butler had a lousy finish going 4-4 in their last 8.
2 losses to Wright St, home loss to Southern Ill and home loss to Loy-Chi.

Their wins included a tighter-than-expected 14 point win over Fla Gulf-Coast (not even D1) at Wis-GB and vs. a bad DET team.

They just don't seem to be playing that great anymore.

ODU was looking pretty good in their 12-game win-streak before losing to George Mason in the CAA semi's.

I think the teams got mis-seeded a little.
Butler probably deserves more of a 7 seed after their crappy finish.

I certainly wouldn't be counting on Butler to win this one too easily.

I'm on ODU myself, I agree micro...they fell apart towards the end of the season. I think that will bleed into the tourney!

ODU has a huge size advantage.

I have Butler -1, for a variety of reasons. You can play the 'bad loss' game all night, most recently ODU lost to GeoMason on a neutral court, while Butler lost @ Wright St's home gym in conf finals, when Wright had all to play for and Butler was already in.
I'm not sure how losing @SoIll [4-seed] is a bad loss, that's crazy talk, SoIll was #4 RPI a week ago.

Wins over ND, Indy, full-strengh Zaga, Tenn, Purdue speak for themselves. LV has it at 1-pt, so clearly anything can happen.

I'm actually very glad to see ODU as the trendy pick. Nobody had Montana over Nevada or Wyoming over Gonzaga in the first round recently either.

I had Montana and Wyoming

but, my trend is to disrespect midmajors that get very high seeds
I'm a snob
