Default Check Call the river?

Hey this one is confusing me.... againts unknown villain.. On the river I thought I was ahead of his range so i pushed.. should I have check called?

I would c/f the river, not much value to be gained from betting and hands that beat you are unlikely to be turned into bluffs

yeah unless he's terrible or you have some type of crazy image theres no way he's calling the river shove with anything you beat. c/f to any type of bet, it's not like he could have a draw that missed and is bluffing.

As for your line, I'd bet more on the flop and less on the turn.

well you may very well be ahead of his range of hands that he got to the river with... but theres no chance in hell you're ahead of the range of hands that he'll call your river bet with.
