Ike,

You may be right. I wasn't able to find applicable data with google either way, and young poker players may be a unique population in any case.

I'm definitely not going to tell someone that its impossible they've saved X amount of dollars. But I think this is a question where its easy to dash off an answer and then check back and say WHOA.

Probably like 1:1.1, I don't have to pay taxes and don't really ball it up.

like 1:2,5

Hate thinking about it but I really ponder sometimes where all that money went.

Ditto to both.

I think most of the estimates around 1:3 are WAY too low.

Not saying that any particular person's estimate is too low, just that in general I don't think many people on the forum are saving in excess of 10% of their gross income every year.

Edit: I'll post some more later...

In my own case, my net worth is almost entirely accounted for by poker winnings and (almost inadvertent) profit on the property market. Regular employment barely kept me breaking even when I was paying for rent/mortgage.

Kids, my advice to those of you with balla monies is BUY A HOUSE. By all means blow the rest of it as long as you do that one thing.

-1:10, I have college debts.

If my possessions count it'll be more like +1:10 though.
