Re: I\'M NOT 10 YEARS OLD ANY MORE DAD HYACHAYCHAYCH
Jay what uni ? and is it near your dads place ?
Also the real issue seems to be you and your 18 y/o bro having to share a room. WTF indeed. Given the situation wouldn't living with hippy mum seem an all round better option, plus you can steal her stash |

Re: I\'M NOT 10 YEARS OLD ANY MORE DAD HYACHAYCHAYCH
so this whole thread is you're whining because u don't want to share a bedroom with your brother when you go back on the holidays? There are too many whiney bitches in the world, and guess what, you're one of them.
Maybe dad and new wife should get a 5 bedroom house, just so u don't have to share a room with your brother for a couple weeks out of the year, how's that sound? |

Either get your own place on campus or ride out the holidays for this year and decide what to do about the summer.
How long is the closed period for school, over there? |

Re: I\'M NOT 10 YEARS OLD ANY MORE DAD HYACHAYCHAYCH
Unless they live a short hop away, most people in uni dont go back for most holidays. Back when i lived in uni accom (Salford Uni btw) the only times it was really empty on campus was Xmas and Summer.
Id recommend getting a flat straight off instead of uni halls btw - for the cost to quality ratio the flat will be miles better. I dont go to uni now, but my place is about the same distance to the uni as it was back when i lived in halls in the first year - im paying £225 a month (i think, my housemate tracks cost like that, lol) and my uni accom in halls was just under 250 a month. Obv your milage may vary, but if i were you id think long and hard about not doing uni accom - esp if you have nice stuff you dont want damaged/stolen and you value a good night sleep before an exam etc. All the partying and crap you can do anyway and its much cooler to bring birds back to your own place rather than a crappy halls place. The only negatives are its easier to socialise if you live 5 min from the campus bar and live with 7 other people (which is obv a negative too) and you will have other hidden costs on top of rent - like most bills are inc with uni halls but leccy and gas etc you will need to sort. |

Re: I\'M NOT 10 YEARS OLD ANY MORE DAD HYACHAYCHAYCH
[Phill] - yeah thats definitely an option, but I think I'd like to go back into Uni accomadation mainly because the social scene there is soo much fun. Not particularly bothered about noise, and the quality of place does not particularly bother me (some uni places are actually really nice).
