J8 blind battle, I play turn to weak?
Villan is a reasonable player, 37% preflop or so, aggressive, but not ridiculous. I think his range of raisers here are Ax, any pp, K9s+
I am wondering if my turn check behind sucks, or if we like it because it induces possible river bluff. ** Do It in the Road [Hold 'em] (10.00|20.00 Fixed Limit - Cash Game) Real Money - snubben sitting in seat 3 with $461.50 [Dealer] - steerpikec sitting in seat 4 with $575.00 - CDLarmore sitting in seat 5 with $591.00 - Kung_ sitting in seat 6 with $423.57 steerpikec posted the small blind - $5.00 CDLarmore posted the big blind - $10.00 ** Dealing card to CDLarmore: 8 of Hearts, Jack of Spades Kung_ folded snubben folded steerpikec raised - $20.00 CDLarmore called - $20.00 ** Dealing the flop: 8 of Clubs, 7 of Hearts, 2 of Hearts steerpikec bet - $10.00 CDLarmore raised - $20.00 steerpikec called - $20.00 ** Dealing the turn: Ace of Hearts steerpikec checked CDLarmore checked ** Dealing the river: 3 of Clubs steerpikec bet - $20.00 CDLarmore called - $20.00 |

it seems fine, gettin check-raised here would kinda suck so maybe its best to avoid it and perhaps induce a bluff?

Re: J8 blind battle, I play turn to weak?
Turn is perfectly played. This is a small pot. If villain does not have an A he is drawing slim on the river. You give him the opportunity to bluff at you if he didn't have an A and saved 1BB if he did.
You'd be shocked at how many times villain will turn over KJ or some other junk here. |
