NL200: 3bet light with JTs and don\'t understand villain
6-handed. MP is 23/19/5.6, not sure if good as I don't think he's a reg. Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. $200 stacks.
MP raises to $7, hero 3bets to $24, MP calls. Flop 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($51) MP checks, hero bets $40 (anybody like checking behind? If he shoves I fold, right?), MP calls. Turn 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($131) MP shoves for $137, hero folds. So my question is mostly what his range is here... why shove turn instead of flop? To get better equity against A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and similar? |

Re: NL200: 3bet light with JTs and don\'t understand villain
His range probably doesn't include a straight unless it's an oddly played T7. Maybe he has a set or something and wants you to do something dumb like call with an overpair. Or it's the opposite: he has something like AK/JJ and wants you to do something dumb and fold your overpair.
FWIW, I check the flop like always. |

Re: NL200: 3bet light with JTs and don\'t understand villain
this is a donkish line. maybe he's being too clever and trying to gain more equity when the turn misses your range and he has an overpair or set...or maybe he's just dumb and wants to slowplay something then realizes on the turn that he should bet now and not give a free card. oop, villain should just bet/3bet ai.
check flop next time. |

OK I will check flop in the future; good draw no need to get blown off it.

[ QUOTE ] oop, villain should just bet/3bet ai. [/ QUOTE ]He gets 0 value out of overcards/air that way. Isn't crai better for villain with overpair? |

MP checks, hero bets $40 (anybody like checking behind? [/ QUOTE ] if your opponent check/raises flops with a high frequency, I like checking. if he doesn't, then I'd bet around $30. a bet accomplished a lot, such as winning the pot/building the pot for when you hit/taking free turn. fwiw, your flop bet is too big. |

I'm kind of concerned he will float with a bad (but better) hand if I only bet $30.

you don't mind him floating you w/AQ/KQ here. [/ QUOTE ]I'd much prefer him folding AQ/KQ here I think. Yes, in rare cases I will hit my Q and maybe stack him but that's really rare. |
