Default Bust out - played correctly? $3rm 88 Mid Tourney

Mid position with 43k (blinds 1500/3000) - I have 88.

Blinds are getting big and villian (Button) has about 55k. Average stack is about 40k.

I raise to 6k. Folds to button who calls. All others fold.

Flop: 10 2 10

I bet 12k into 16.5k pot leaving 25.5k behind. Called.

Turn: Q no flush draw on board.

I push for 25.5k. He calls with 22 for full house. I'm out.

Could I have gotten away from this. Table playing reasonably tight.

I hate the min pfr in MP with 88

When villain flat calls you on the flop, what did you
put him on? Are there any turns you weren't shoving?

You let the 22 hit his set IMO, and the flat call
sure feels like Tx, maybe JJ.

I'd like to hear more about your turn push thought process.

The min-raise was because the blinds were getting so big. This was also taking down many pots pf - so I thought I'd stick with it really.

When he called I suppose I had him on 2 overcards - many people had been shoving with pp's higher than 88 due to increasing blinds.

When he called, I suspected he definitelt had overcards - I couldn't see him calling with an overpair and any combo including a ten other than TT - so unlikely.

The turn really scared me - but I didn't want to give him chance to take it away by checking - I simply pushed thinking I can take it down.

Did you have any read on villain?

I don't know how you can put him on 22 but when the queen came on the turn you could have checked and re-evaluated his bet then. I'd prefer a reraise on the turn if you believe you're ahead because many times you get villain to bet with air and take down a huge pot. IMO you don't need to push after the turn because villain could easily have a queen in his range of starting hands on the button.

Unless I have a read that says "only bets 99+" I'm AI pf.

Reraise the turn? Hero moved in OOP...with less than a PSB
left. I don't think you have any other "moves" in your
arsenal here!

Push preflop: I'm pushing (first in) for over 14BB's - not sure about this.

Push flop: Thought about it but the 12k bet was an attempt to get him to push. I would have called as I was sure I was ahead.

I agree I could have raised more pf - cut his odds down.
