Almost half my life was spent in Atlanta (5 areas in Atlanta that I can think of off the top of my head).

[/ QUOTE ]

I wonder if that's standard too.

Me: Buckhead, Midtown, Norcross, Lilburn, Lawrenceville, Flowery Branch (in that order).

Chip: I think it might be. The only one we share there is Buckhead. I spent a couple years in a house near Chastain.

Not many people who live in Atlanta are from there. Maybe that's why so many ATLiens move around so much?

Grew up in St. Paul.
Moved to Roseville (about a mile away) in 4th grade and in the process switched school districts.
Moved to Minneapolis for college (UofM), probably 5 miles from my parents home in Roseville.
After school I moved home for a little while before moving back to St Paul, 2 miles from my parents house and about a mile from our old house.

I might move back to Minneapolis soon.

I think it may also be because as people get older, living in the middle of the action in Buckhead and Midtown loses its luster, plus if you want to actually own a house, you need to move out of the city to get any sort of decent price.

I grew up in suburban Milwaukee, went to college in Virginia, and have lived in the NW Atlanta suburbs for the last 8.5 years.
