Re: Chicago Cubs for Sale
I would [censored] my pants with joy if Cuban bought the Cubs, but I think it is very unlikely. He just does not have the time to run the Mavs, pursue his media interests, and turn around a baseball franchise.

Re: Chicago Cubs for Sale
I remember listening to Cuban in an interview w/ Dan Patrick on ESPN radio that the only two baseball teams he would think about buying were the Pirates and Cubbies. This was directly from his mouth.
edit: This was in April of '06 FWIW, and I can't imagine much would have changed in this time. |

Re: Chicago Cubs for Sale
there is talk that the wrigley family may buy them back. Bill Wrigley stepped down as CEO of the corp. Since he is rather young, the speculation is that he may make a run at buying the cubs back since the wrigley family never wanted to get a rid of them in the first place, it was just that they had to be sold because of the death taxes when PK Wrigley and his wife died in a very short time period and the death taxes on them were too much
as a sox fan, I couldn't care less, the cubs will suck regardless |
