200NL: Turned top 2, facing resistance
Villain in this hand is 26/12/2.6 thru 140 hds. I typically run 20/10/2.5 or so and he should view me accordingly if he's paying attention. We don't have a whole lot of history, this is only the 2nd time I've played with him. My notes from the first session were pretty worthless, but something he did inspired me to write "Seems awful". I know, real useful. Anyway, earlier this session he called my button raise from the big blind w/ 68s and then checkraised me big when he flopped a flush draw, but other than that we don't have any big pot history. For no particular reason I decided he might be floating me w/ an unimporved pocket pair (not necessarily an overpair) or maybe a suited connector that got a piece of it. I didn't put him on anything too strong...its a pretty wet board and I thought a really good hand (set or even 2 pair) would raise to protect against a draw. Turn: ($45) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $30, BTN raises to $120, Hero ??? OK, when I bet I did it thinking I had the best hand, but does anything I'm beating make that raise? Is this an easy fold or should I get it in here? |

Re: 200NL: Turned top 2, facing resistance
It seems like you have no idea what he could have here and this is not a good thing. You should always have an idea of what youre opponet is calling with and how he is going to recact to certain flops with certain hands.
I immediately had a range in my head of what he has here while reading this and it is 6-7/8-9 set 10's,9's 5'or8's or a badly played over pair now can you narrow this down? if not what kinda equity do you need to call. |

Re: 200NL: Turned top 2, facing resistance
I'd fold. I put him on the made straight on the flop, a set, or QJ of clubs making the straight on the turn. You beat basically a bluff.

Re: 200NL: Turned top 2, facing resistance
I'd get it in here basically 100% of the time. He's putting you on an overpair at best when you have significantly stronger.
