avg price per square foot is right around 1k last time I looked, the apt shown is 550 sq ft and that is almost certainly overstated. also that particular apt doesn't look like a particularly good deal for 500k, you can do much better.

I think $1k per sq ft is probably a bit cheap in desirable neighborhoods, but seems reasonable for financial district.
In the desirable hoods in Brooklyn things are about $700 a sq ft.

in my experience there is a huge variance in price as well depending on a number of things. my neighbordhood's avg price per sqft is a lot more than many apts sell at.

in the 'state' Östergötland, Sweden
