Your mixing your games up, there is a HUGE difference between HU play and full table play. Live / Online in a full table, I have folded very strong hands just because I didn't feel I was getting enough money on my action.

I also can bet my life on it he has Ad8x. He has the straight plus the nut flush draw on the side, that is the only thing that makes sense of his bet, maybe he might have flopped a set, but I doubt he'd have waited until the turn to pop you, he has a straight plus a flush draw.

Is this an actual hand or did you just make it up? If so, please tell us what he had.

First off, the whole hand, was just being played weird, like when you can sense that the both of you have a monster, and all the money is going in no matter what. I don't really know why I felt it, I think it may have just been another one of those "god, full tilt is trying to ruin me, i can feel it" but that's not justifiable in any way.

I of course, thought for about 2 seconds and called. He flipped up Ad8h for a straight and a re-draw to the nut flush. I yelled "NO DIAMOND" and bam Kd hits the river for a King high straight flush.

I posted because I just thought it was an interesting hand and I was surprised that it was not a set or flush i was up against. It's not often you get into a limped pot and your opponents range is A8> or 99>. You would think there would be some kind of raise PF to put an opponent on this kind of range dont you think?

Looks like I should have taken your bet Ryan? Ad8x only is the hand someone plays there.

I am sorry to hear the unlucky river, but you didnt play the hand wrong. Dont ever think of folding in that position. You were just unlucky, and don't think your opponent is an idiot, because he did have a very strong hand.

I think you put way too much into villain having a monster hand.

I find that when I flop a flush and initiate betting on the flop (which is very often) that a bricked turn and continued aggression on my part is met with way too little respect.

Put it this way, I almost never think about "trapping" or "slowplaying" this type of hand because of the action I get with wide ranges of hands on this turn.

You have to get it in.

Another thing, you mention a pair of 9s is the best hand he'll limp, but you limped in this hand, he checked his BB.

I've faced a lot of players that would limp 99 but raise a limp with 99. There's a big difference.

no i had Qd4d, so i actually improved my already winning hand to a straight flush. At first i was like F#%^! he just hit that diamond to make nut flush and then i was like o yea, i wanted a Kd or 8d lol. I just thought he was going to flip up Adxd to beat me.
