Re: Tom Brady Best QB Ever!!!!!!

Ok, since when did 1 superbowl in 3 seasons become better then 3 superbowls in 4 seasons? [/ QUOTE ] this is a really bad argument. is Willie McGinest the best OLB of all time b/c he was a big piece in 3/4? |

Re: Tom Brady Best QB Ever!!!!!!
I know it was, but he used the "1 superbowl and 2 NFC championships," so I responded with an argument of equal value.

Re: Tom Brady Best QB Ever!!!!!!
[ QUOTE ]
Saying Aikman was not a top contributor shows you know nothing about Aikman or those teams. And if you are a Hall of Famer it means you ARE one of the great players of your generation. Also, I love people giving Brady all the credit for the Super Bowls. Is he the reason they held the Colts to 3 points? Is he the reason Peyton threw 4 pics the year before? Against the Panthers, he had the game losing easy pic bounce off the guys shoulder pads (wish I could remember the name.) Last year, he was the top contributor in losing the game for forcing a terrible pass. How many super bowls does he have without Vinatieri? None of this means he isn't a great QB, he is a great QB, but him getting all the credit for a great team with a ton of great players is sickening. [/ QUOTE ] He doesn't get all of the credit, he gets much more than Aikman because Brady was a more key figure (and in fact, the best player) on his teams than Aikman was. It should be obvious. The Dallas D was better than New England's, the Dallas o-line was better, the Dallas running backs were better, and the Dallas recievers were better. The thing that closes the gap between these two dynasties is New England had a MUCH better QB. |

Re: Tom Brady Best QB Ever!!!!!!
Wasn't the book on Aikman that he had decent all-around skills but that his best attribute was avoiding mistakes that killed his team?
It's been awhile and I wasn't much of a Cowboys fan, but the comment about the O-line is spot-on. I mean how many yards would E. Smith have run for if he did it behind the Cardinals line his whole career? (Trick question - he would have been knocked out of the league by injuries after just a few seasons.) |

[/ QUOTE ] Ahh, you must be a young Cardinals fan, as you have yet to fully learn the ropes. If Emmitt had been drafted by the Cardinals, he would have sucked for three years and then gone on to superstardom with another team. Given his overall talent and durability, he would have probably still made the Hall. |

Re: Tom Brady Best QB Ever!!!!!!
IMO Aikman gets a bum rap because his supporting cast was so good. Dallas never really had to come from behind in any playoff game - except for '95 vs. GB when Emmitt pwned the 4th Qtr; but also the '94 loss in SF was a gutty performance in which he won my respect for good. He probably threw the best deep out I've ever seen. I'd still give Brady the edge because as others mentioned, his supporting cast was very mediocre at least offensively.
