Braveheart is one of those movies like Dances With Wolves that really isn't any good at all when you re-watch it, and you wonder why everyone drank the Kool-Aid back when it came out.

Mel Gibson's pained hero template is irresistible.

Braveheart is in my top 15 all-time. It's awesome and I don't see whats not to like. Sick battle scenes, cool montages, a scene where the king's effeminate son's lover gets thrown from a window, etc. Great movie.

funny.. this was on TNT or something yesterday morning so I watched a pretty good chunk of it while doing some chores. During some parts I definitely thought to myself, "man, I thought this movie was a lot better than this." But there are still some awesome parts that get me pretty pumped.

I'm sure a big reason for the disparity between my current and former selves' opinions is the fact I first watched it when I was 16 or so when I first watched it.

I don't know, as a general rule of thumb, I pretty much dislike any movie that is set before the 1900's or so. Something about the old timey language I think is just stupid. Am I alone here?

I find it very rewatchable, and have rewatched it several times, even on commercial t.v., which I normally never watch movies on.
