Default I\'m like a lost child QQ hand 25nl

Opponent is 27,18,1.5

Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
5 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
Hero: $42.40
CO: $20.55
Button: $41.90
SB: $8.50
BB: $25.20

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
<font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $1</font>, CO folds, Button calls, 2 folds.

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($2.35, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">Hero bets $2</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Button raises to $4.5</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $15</font>, Button calls.

Turn: 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($32.35, 2 players)

Hero falls to the ground with confusion.

It seems like none of the options are good. He obviously has a verys strong hand. However a check fold seems very weak to me. I mean we do beat pair/ace of diamonds hands. However out side of that we don't beat much. Should I have played the flop differently to avoid this situation?
