Obviously Billy Sims, Lee Roy Selmon, Tony Casillas and OU's Roy Williams!

[/ QUOTE ]

And the other seven are obviously Greg Pruitt, Jim Weatherall, Steve Owens, Tommie Harris, Joe Washington, Carl McAdams and Rick Bryan!

[/ QUOTE ]

Amazing that you two didn't mention the greatest tight end to play at OU...Keith Jackson

also:
Billy Vessels (he won a Heisman, duh)
Elvis Peacock
Steve Rhodes
J.C. Watts
the almighty Buster Rhymes
and don't forget about the big "what if"...Marcus Dupree

Archie Griffin doesn't belong on this list. He was solid, but he wasn't some TOP 25 ALL-TIME talent like Adrian Peterson or Herschel Walker.

Bruce Smith and Reggie White definitely belong in the top 10. Deion Sanders should be in that list somewhere too.

Texas had a better defense than USC. That's why they won the game. That's why they beat Ohio State. Vince Young is the most overrated person in college sports since Charlie Weis. He would make 3 huge mistakes then do 4 awesome plays to win games. Of course, I doubt this stops ESPN from propping him up to be the God among men that he is around here. He has been fortunate to be the leader on good TEAMS.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL

30/40 for 267 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
19 carries, 200 yds, 3 TD

Texas had 556 yards that game, 467 is Vince. That great D allowed 574 yds to USC.

Also:
4:03, 4 Q VINCE YOUNG 17 YD RUN
0:19, 4 Q VINCE YOUNG 8 YD RUN (VINCE YOUNG RUSH FOR 2 PT CONV)

Come on.

Ok, so let's start naming the people we are 99.99% sure will be on this. I've got 2:

Herschel Walker
Barry Sanders

99% sure:
Marcus Allen
Roger Staubach

95% sure:
OJ Simpson

[/ QUOTE ]

Walker, Allen, Sanders, Dorsett, Payton, Grange, Bo, Thorpe, Reggie, Deion are no-brainers in my mind
maybe Detmer, Staubach, Billy Cannon, Billy Sims, George Rogers, Lee Roy Selmon, Chuck Bednarik [#2 pick in draft], Manning all possible as well.

Tony Dorsett will be in final 11. 6,000 plus rushing yards with a Heisman and a National Championship. Unfortunatley most great running backs won't stick around for 4 years of college ball.

with all due respect, how can someone have robert smith > archie griffin? i don't even see smith in a top 5.... eddie george > archie, i have no problem with that?

[/ QUOTE ]

In college, of course Griffin was better. In the NFL the two-time Heisman winner was a bust. Smith on the other hand led the NFC in rushing and retired at the peak of his career.
