Poker in Mississippi, the south coast - (please help)
I'm going to New Orleans in a couple of weeks and planned to stay a few days in Biloxi or Gulfport. If anyone has been there recently, please tell me a little about the place.
Is Beau Rivage the place to visit? I've read some threads here at the forum, and it was recommended. I prefer to play PLO or NLH (2/5 or higher). Do they still offer poker rates? Can't find any info about it on their website (of course) and they didn't answer my mail, is calling the best way and who to call at the casino? (By experience I know that too many people know too little about too much and will give you wrong answers) Any additional info about when to go, peak hours, game quality etc would be apreciated. |

Re: Poker in Mississippi, the south coast - (please help)
The Beau has 2-5 NLH all the time and usually 5-10 NLH on the weekends. The regular PLO game on the weekends is 10-25 (not sure about during the week). I have also seen 25-50 and 50-100 PLO on the weekends.
Sidenote - Harrahs in New Orleans has a very good 10-25 NLH game on Friday night. Starts around 5:00pm and goes to around midnight usually. |

Re: Poker in Mississippi, the south coast - (please help)
Yeah, just call up the poker room and have them set you up over the phone. I think it's something like $65 a night. You can use the same poker room card as the MGM Grand in Vegas, btw.
The $2/5NL game is pretty decent, like Harrahs' New Orleans, there's a bunch of locals in the game. When I was there, there was a drunk guy with a wad of $100s, just betting $500 or $600 on every hand, usually with nothing. It was like Christmas. |

How is the general quality of those games? Many regulars, tourists, loose or tightish?

Re: Poker in Mississippi, the south coast - (please help)
Call Donna the poker host to set up your room: 228-386-7254. SUPER nice lady. Weekends it's $89, 5 hours of play, also you get a buffet and it's decent as buffets go. Beau is the only hotel you want to stay at, great rooms.
Generally the smaller games get going around 10-11 am saturdays. Tournament starts at noon, $130 I think, 4k chips, 20 min levels. Room is full from about 2pm on...can't comment on the big games. For soft 1/2NL.. IP & Isle... Nothing poker wise in Gulfport yet, just a small slot house Isleview or something. |

bonuspokergod - After doing a search, I found this post and contacted Donna about my upcoming trip to Biloxi. As advertised - she was super polite and helpful and has me all set up for next weekend at the Beau. Thanks for the heads up! If you happen to be in Biloxi 12/01 - 12/03 I'll buy you a beer!
