A guy telling a girl he's interested when she's not is usually a friendship killer. The opposite is not true, unless you can't be friends if he rejects you. If you can't, then you don't really care about being friends, so go after what you want. Also, if you say something and he seems really unimpressed, it just means he's so stunned he has no idea how to respond. I've fooled more than one woman with that trick. (Finally, see the Aviva post above for an example of how bad we are at picking up on obvious signals/going after things we want.) PS: I wrote that before you posted.
